Due to increasing requests (about 10 a week), Ways2GoGreen.com will begin offering Sponsored Posts differently. Guest posts and sponsored posts are always welcomed, but sponsored posts will now have guidelines. The following guidelines below take effect November 16, 2011 and any guest sponsored posts dated prior to November 28, 2011 may not fall into these guidelines. Ways2GoGreen.com believes in full transparency and following FTC guidelines. Guest Posts and Sponsored Posts will be clearly disclosed.
What is the difference between a Guest Post and a Sponsored Post?
Guest Post:
A guest post is free of charge. The post may not promote your business, it must be relevant content (eco-friendly tips, ways to go green, health, etc). No links relating to your site may be contained in the post content itself. Any links contained in the site must be in reference to the content, business or person you are referring to. I prefer at least one image, but it is not a deal breaker. I will review the content and discuss any changes to the text before posting.
Your guest post will include a byline about the author. In the byline you may include a link back to your own website only, not a company you are writing on behalf of or keywords/phrase linked to the company you are writing for. Please see Sponsored Post guidelines for these options.
Sponsored Post:
A Sponsored Post promotes your business or product. It can be in the form of a review/giveaway or simply a text post. A sponsored post can include in-post links to your website or a website you are writing on behalf of, product or social networks and you are welcome to offer our readers a coupon code for your product or service. You may also include your own selection of keywords to add in the SEO, they must be relevant to the content. I prefer at least one image, but it is not a deal breaker. I will review the content and discuss any changes to the text before posting. Full disclosure will be placed in the byline to state that yours is a guest post, sponsored post, review or giveaway.
The cost of a sponsored post is as follows:
Review or Giveaway Post:
No actual monies are exchanged for a review and/or giveaway post. Your product is the compensation. The combined retail value of the product you send to review and winnings for my reader must be $25.00 or more. The giveaway can be a product you send to the winner or a Gift Certificate for the winner to spend on your products. Do not send me the giveaway – only the review product – the product you send me to review will not be returned. All opinions in the post are those of Ways2GoGreen.com, you may include any facts or links, but you may not influence the review of the actual product.
Sponsored Post:
The cost of a sponsored post, written by you is $25.00 (made via PayPal), the post may include up to 3 sponsored links, an image and keywords of your choice upon request.
A few Rules:
- Text Ad links MAY NOT be purchased on sponsored posts written by someone else. Write your own, unique content or request purchase of a link on a post which is not a Guest Post or Sponsored Post.
- Content MUST be unique to my site. If the post is duplicated in part or in full elsewhere online, the post will be unpublished immediately and no refund will be issued.
- If you write a fact supported post, site the sources your facts came from. That is always nice for everyone involved.
- Ways2GoGreen.com reserves the right to refuse any guest post, sponsored post, review or giveaway. All content MUST be relevant to the site content.
- The rules and fees may change at any time. As new issues arrive, new rules may be applied. I hope you understand these changes.
I look forward to working with you to help promote your green business, products and your Green message. Contact Ways2GoGreen.com at any time with any questions or to set up a sponsored or guest post.
Today is Earth Day! The day to get together to share and inform on making the world a healthier place to live.
Join us on Ways2GoGreen.com on Facebook and share what you are doing to celebrate Earth Day. This year I am planting a white dogwood tree as well as gathering up clothes and other miscellaneous items to donate to Goodwill.
I think everyday should be a day to honor the planet, but it is nice to have one day of the year to get together and get more people involved every year. The more people know and do, the better we will be. Think Globally, Act Locally.
A video on the history of Earth Day

I'm happy to announce the Green Living Community (which I created) from Lunch.com is now a part of Ways2GoGreen.com and be seen here. The Green Living Community currently has over 160 members and is a gathering place for those with a passion for the environment and living a greener life. The goal of this community is to be a spot to learn and share knowledge on eco-friendly products, recycling, gardening, organic, health, and all other things Green. I made the below video almost two years ago, but I have recently changed up the audio. This video is a culmination of facts about our environment as well as ways we can improve the environment. I think you'll learn something. I see it as the video version of the Ways2GoGreen website. Enjoy.
I created a CFL bulb testimonial 6 months ago and now I'm updating the status on my orginal claim. I replaced an incandescent bulb with a CFL bulb the week of Thanksgiving in 2008. The previous incandescent bulbs needed to be replaced every month.
I'm happy to report that the CFL bulb is still going after 12 months on the job. I am very happy with these results. The light bulb is in the outside lamp post and is on for a few hours each night.
Orginal CFL testimonial blog post:
For the last few years I’d used incandescent light bulbs in my outside lamp post. They would burn out every month, like clockwork. The light was on about eight hours every day. It was highly annoying to replace a bulb every month. I have since gone to the wonderful world of CFL bulbs.
I replaced an old incandescent bulb with a CFL bulb during the last week of November in 2008. As I’m typing this on May 27, 2009 the CFL bulb is still working. That is six months, which is six times longer than any of the incandescent light bulbs I used. That’s pretty cool, but I haven’t even gotten into the energy I’ve saved. EnergyStar.gov claims that CFLs “will save about $30 over its lifetime and pay for itself in about 6 months. It uses 75 percent less energy and lasts about 10 times longer than an incandescent bulb.” I’m a believer.
I’ve replaced all of my old incandescent bulbs in the house with CFLs now. If you haven’t already replaced your old bulbs with CFL bulbs, I would urge you to do so. You will be conserving energy, saving money and saving time of having to replace bulbs.
So, if you still haven't started to use CFL bulbs, I would urge you to do so. At least try out one and put it in one of your most used lights. I bet you'll be happy with your new investment as well. You'll be saving energy and saving money.
I'll post again on this CFL testimonial topic again when the bulb burns out. If that happens.
