Scientists around the world can agree to the fact that there is energy in water. Chemically, it's locked in between the atomic bonds of hydrogen and oxygen. When the hydrogen and oxygen combine whether it's in a fuel cell or internal combustion engine, there's energy left over in the form of heat or electrons which in turn would be converted by the pistons into mechanical energy. However, it takes exactly the same amount of energy to pry those hydrogen and oxygen atoms apart resulting to lost energy, not the other way around. Recently, there have also been developments to extract energy from water and convert it into gas which they call HHO.
What exactly is HHO? HHO stands for Oxyhydrogen, a mixture of Hydrogen and Oxygen gasses with a ratio of 2:1; making it almost identical to water. Other names include Brown's Gas, attributed to its advocate, Yull Brown who discovered this process in 1960s. HHO is commonly utilized for welding as well as torches for processing refractory materials. In practice however, a ratio of 4:1 or 5:1 is often utilized to avoid oxidizing flames.
For automobiles, the process began with a water-gas hybrid system which separate water (H2O) into a mixture of Hydrogen and Oxygen and later on, to gas state. When hydrogen is mixed with Oxygen (HHO) and combined with gasoline, it can power the car for about 120 miles. HHO burns three times more efficient than gasoline, resulting to a dramatic decrease in emission pollution.
All in all, the question that would continue to linger is this: Can we really make a car run purely on water? The answer is still No because claims made by scientists are still HYBRID. Cars still run on gasoline. HHO is just another component to make it more efficient and decrease emissions, working in the same way as solar cells do.
